Energy Follows Thought

Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings commissioned a lyric video for a track from Willie Nelson’s 72nd solo studio album titled A Beautiful Time. The album, which was to be released on Willie’s 89th birthday in the Spring of 2022 required a simple, zen visual solution that would feel on-brand for the country star. The concept was to take the viewer on a soothing journey through a Texas landscape, based in-part on photographs from Willie’s ranch near Austin. The color palette for the dusk portions of the video was drawn directly from the album cover, and the nighttime scenes were colored in an aqua-blue palette to create a transition between sunset and sunrise. The video was used as a part of advertisements and other materials for the official album release.
