Polarized Express
UCLA Magazine needed a visual concept to express the idea of political polarization. The piece needed to tie in with themes of communication, division, and social media. I hand-illustrated several different detailed faux-social media posts, writing plausible, but vague text to make them feel more real, and mimicked the interfaces of popular platforms. The wall of social media posts divides the two characters. A spot illustration later in the article shows silhouettes of the two characters attempting to connect despite the barrier.
